LEAF Building Group were engaged by M3 Architecture and Mount Alvernia College to provide a Rooftop Terrace above their Home Economics Building.
LEAF Building Group were engaged to Install a new shade structure and planters to the existing Level 1 Rooftop Terrace. The shade structure included concrete columns and beams, a structural steel trellis system and a roofing structure with timber panelling soffit. Extensive and varying lighting systems were installed. New concrete planters were installed complete with fill and an irrigation system. Joinery cabinets to store all electrical equipment and irrigation controls and timber seating was also installed to complete the project. The existing pavers were completely removed and reinstated as part of the refurbishment works. The pedestals were removed and a new system was installed to support the pavers.
LEAF occupied the front right-hand section of the school (facing the building from the street) encompassing the left hand side of the Home Economics building to the vegetable gardens and the two entrances (ramp and stairs) to the Rooftop Terrace. The main access to the School and Reception office was maintained throughout the project duration.
Other areas addressed by LEAF Building Group include a detailed clean of the surfaces and painting of walls and structural beams.
This new rooftop terrace provided an extra function space for the College’s use, just in time for their end of year celebrations.
