LEAF Building Group were engaged by the Moreton Bay Regional Council in the development of a new Sporting Precinct at Nathan Road, Rothwell.
The Civil works have been undertaken by a Civil Contractor, whilst LEAF Building Group were the Principal Contractor for construction of the Clubhouse facilities. Works included the Clubhouse construction, external hardstands and tiered seating as a grandstand for spectators to view the main football field.
LEAF’s building works included the in ground wet drainage system connecting to the rainwater harvesting tanks from the three buildings.
Building A consisted of two team changing room facilities with amenities which are mirror reversed to each other, Timekeepers Scorers box, First Aid Room, Cleaners/Storeroom and two Umpires Change Rooms with amenities.
Building B consisted of two parts, Part one featured the main Club Room, Office Space, a large commercial grade kitchen area with internal and external serveries. The external servery opens onto breezeway with a covered walkway and is connected to Building B Part two, consisting of public amenities and a multi-purpose room.
Building C contains the irrigation pump room, bin store and club storage. The external works consisted of hardstands and footpaths, leading to a disabled access ramp to the sports field, tiered seating with synthetic turf between the concrete seats, concrete hard stands with patchwork quilt style of various coloured concrete, coloured concrete seats and raised planter beds.
Drinking fountains, bike racks and Council standard Bins have also been installed as well as a roof safety system over the clear roof sheets to ensure the safety of individuals maintaining the building.
The decorative white concrete blocks used to construct the building, the concrete hardstands, concrete seats and planters have all had an anti-graffiti sealant applied to provide a natural finish and assist with the ease of maintenance for the club for the life of the building.
